Paula Presta

Paula Presta is a Partner with KPMG in Kamloops, providing business and taxation services for small to medium size businesses. She has over 17 years of experience having worked with KPMG in Vancouver, BC and London, UK, specializing in the retail, entertainment and communication industries. She has a special interest in the high-tech industry and entrepreneurs. Paula is an active member of various community organizations including VK Venture Advisors, President of Venture Kamloops and member of Daybreak Rotary.‎ Recently Paula was named as one of Kamloops Daily News Top 10 Young Entrepreneurs in Kamloops and nominated for Young Entrepreneur Award by the Chamber of Commerce.

Justin Jackson

Justin has been building things with computers since he was 5. He built his first website in 1993, and sold his first product in the 10th grade. Nowadays, he's the Product Manager for a profitable web app, and the host of the Product People podcast (where he's interviewed guests like Jason Calacanis, DHH, and Amy Hoy). Dr. Matti Haverila

Matti Haverila joined the Thompson Rivers University in July 2013. Before joining Thompson Rivers University, he has worked at various universities and corporations in Finland, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia.

He is an author of three books, and has published almost 80 academic and professional articles and conference papers. His research interests are in marketing of high-technology products, success of New Product Development (NPD) and R&D projects, customer satisfaction and loyalty, e-learning, and cell phone usage and behaviour.

In addition to the academic credentials Matti has 15 years practical managerial experience in managing international companies in Finland, U.K., the Bahamas and the United States in industries like software, consumer products and forest industry products. Most recently he was the President and CEO of Cybelius Software Inc. located in San Jose, CA. In addition he was the Commercial Counsellor for the Finnish Trade Promotion Agency, FinPro, for government of Finland in New York and Silicon Valley. He has also been a board member of several companies.

Matti has a Ph.D. (with Honours) from Tampere University of Technology in Finland.

Arjun Singh

Arjun is serving his second term on Kamloops City Council. He currently works as a property manager and facilitator. He also has worked extensively promoting technology and technology businesses in Kamloops. From 2000 - 2005, Arjun worked as an internet coach and trainer under the banner of his company, Full World Internet Coaching. During the same period, he wrote a weekly column for Kamloops This Week and hosted Kamloops Internet Radio on CFBX Campus Community Radio. He served as a board member, secretary, and president of Digital Valley, the Kamloops Tech Industry Association (1999-2006). Arjun holds an MA in Professional Communication and Graduate Certificate in Internet Marketing. He has a bad/good habit of buying lots of gadgets.

Paul Blanchette

Paul currently leads the operations activity in iCompass Technologies Inc, a rapidly growing Software-as-a-Service provider to the North American local government marketplace. He brings strong leadership and mentoring skills to iCompass.

With 35 years experience in dynamic and high growth information system companies in various cities worldwide, Paul has acquired significant expertise in senior management, software development, business development, partner relationship management, product marketing and strategic planning. He has extensive Operations experience including project management, software product development, and customer support. He has worked with eMobile Data Inc, MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc., TDNI Transport Data Network International, Motorola/MDI and for BC Tel. He has further experience from his board positions in two BC based technology companies doing business internationally.

Paul holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of BC, he sits on the Board of Directors of Clevest Solutions Inc. Paul is married to Linda, and has two grown children.

Raghwa Gopal

Raghwa is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and invested in many companies. Over the last 30 years, Raghwa has started, grown and sold a number of businesses, most recently, Vadim Software. He has also had extensive experience and been directly involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions throughout his career. Raghwa currently sits on the Board of numerous businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He is a certified Business and Executive Coach and has been recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year” and as a “Technology Innovator”.

Sheldon Gardiner

Sheldon is an experienced entrepreneur with successful startups in gas liquids, real estate construction and software development. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan (finance and marketing) and experience in several industries as an employee, owner and investor. Sheldon helped establish Venture Okanagan, an angel investment forum in conjunction with the Okanagan College School of Business and also co-founded 2 private equity businesses where he and other partners invested in high growth private companies. Sheldon's current passion is Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation. He helped to start up Okanagan Changemakers to focus on making social impact through entrepreneurship. Sheldon is an active volunteer in Kelowna and is most proud of the startup of his family and 2 daughters with his wife Shauna. They are very proud to call Kelowna their home.

Bruce Churchill

Bruce is also the lead architect behind NRI’s WMS system and continues to play a key role in advising its continuous development and consulting regularly with the IT team at NRI. Carl Anderson

Carl is a 30-year veteran of the technology industry with a strong history of entrepreneurial business leadership, results-oriented project management, excellent problem solving skills and creative solutions. He designed, implemented and ran the province’s first entrepreneur incubator at SFU. He has started numerous companies, taken a company from bootstrap funding to an IPO and mentored continuously since his work at SFU. Carl has also served as an Accredited Lead Mentor for the BCIC Mentor Program.

Edwin Mark

Edwin is a partner with Fulton & Company in Kamloops with a business law practise that includes clients ranging from start-up and emerging businesses to large institutions and includes work in corporate and commercial transactions, technology and intellectual property matters. With both a business degree and a law degree as well as previous experience as in-house counsel for a technology company where he had responsibility for its legal affairs and was part of the company's executive management team, Edwin is able to provide a business perspective to the legal services that he provides to clients.
